IWLI was founded in North Carolina by Guli (Guzeliya Islamova) — a former film producer with 20+ years working in visual storytelling and international film production.

After moving to the US, the creative instinct that shaped her work on screen evolved into something new: a way to bring emotion, color and character into the small details we carry every day.
